Overview

Metal Fabrication role focused on reading and interpreting engineering blueprints to fabricate, repair, and assemble metal structures and components.

• Read and interpret engineering blueprints.
• Remove excess metal and unwanted materials from metal parts, castings, and other metal products; perform related labouring tasks.
• Select and prepare metal stock for fabrication to make or repair metal structures such as boilers and pressure vessels.
• Construct base templates if necessary.
• Shape and bend metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools.
• Set up metalworking machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears.
• Join metal sections using various welding techniques; cut metal sections using flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines.
• Double-check design specifications before commencing cutting work.

• Conform with applicable safety regulations and company policies.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• At least 1 year of proven experience in metal fabrication.
• AWS certification and advanced welding experience.
• Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures.
• Advanced mathematical and engineering skills.

• Salary: $17.46 - $27.00 per hour.
