The company is backed by an experienced leadership team with a strong track record in the industry, focusing on high-quality food production and scalable operations in the North American market.

As the business continues to expand, they are building out their core team and looking for detail-oriented professionals to support day-to-day operations.

Position Summary
The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall management of Calgary plant operations, including Production, Warehouse, Quality Control, Health & Safety, and Equipment Maintenance. This role ensures safe, efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations while supporting the successful startup and growth of the facility.

The Plant Manager provides leadership to plant personnel, drives operational performance, ensures food safety and regulatory compliance, and works closely with cross-functional teams to achieve production and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
Operations & Production Management

Lead and oversee daily plant operations, including production, warehouse, quality control, maintenance, and health & safety activities.

Develop and manage production schedules, staffing plans, and operational priorities to ensure efficient operations and on-time order fulfillment.

Ensure adequate availability of labour, materials, equipment, and storage capacity to support production requirements.

Monitor plant performance and operational KPIs, including productivity, efficiency, yield, downtime, labour utilization, inventory accuracy, food safety compliance, and workplace safety. Investigate operational issues and implement corrective actions as required.

Support plant startup, commissioning, operational ramp-up, and future expansion initiatives.

Warehouse & Inventory Management

Oversee receiving, storage, inventory control, and shipping operations.

Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, reconciliation, and inventory control procedures.

Optimize warehouse utilization, material flow, and inventory management practices.

Ensure proper storage, handling, traceability, and stock rotation of all materials and finished products.

Quality & Food Safety Management

Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, SQF, CFIA, and customer quality requirements.

Review quality performance and lead investigations related to product quality, food safety, customer complaints, and non-conformances.

Support implementation and continuous improvement of food safety and quality management systems.

Promote a strong quality culture throughout plant operations.

Health & Safety Management

Lead the plant Health & Safety program, develop and maintain an effective Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) system, and foster a strong safety culture throughout the organization.

Ensure compliance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety legislation, company policies, and workplace safety requirements.

Identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, support incident investigations, and implement corrective actions to improve workplace safety.

Ensure employees receive appropriate safety training, use required PPE, and comply with established safety procedures and safe work practices.

Facility and Equipment Maintenance

Oversee the maintenance, reliability, and safe operation of plant facilities, utilities, and production equipment.

Oversee preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, repairs, and spare parts management to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.

Ensure employees are properly trained on equipment operation and comply with established SOPs and safety requirements.

Support facility and equipment installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
