This hybrid position is essential for increasing destination awareness, supporting the tourism sector's growth. Reporting to the Manager of Travel Media, you will develop and execute targeted media pitches, manage inquiries, and collaborate with the Meetings & Conventions team to generate media coverage. Successful candidates will have a minimum of five years in communications or a related field, demonstrating a knack for engaging storytelling and relationship building.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate on media pitches that promote Calgary
• Evaluate and follow up on media requests
• Host and facilitate media visits for conventions
• Track earned media performance and results
• Align with internal teams to share updates on media efforts
Requirements:
• 5+ years of experience in media or tourism
• Excellent written communication skills and media knowledge
• Strong organizational skills with detail orientation
• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Availability for flexible working hours
