What does this role look like?
The CBE understands the future of work is flexible. In this role, you are eligible to participate in a flexible work program that allows you to work remotely for up to three days a week. A minimum of two days must be in the office. At certain times, you may be required to work in the office more than 2 days per week based on operational requirements.

For this posting, we are seeking a Communications Advisor who has developed a strong foundation in their communications career and is looking to continue growing their expertise in a large, dynamic public sector environment. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Communications, the successful candidate will support a broad range of communications initiatives for senior leadership, internal clients and community partners.
This is a generalist communications role that contributes across multiple communications disciplines, including strategic communications planning, content development, organizational communications, digital communications, stakeholder engagement and brand implementation. The successful candidate will assist with the planning, development and implementation of communications strategies and create a wide range of communications products, including website content, newsletters, presentations, reports, videos and other communications materials.
The position will work closely with communications colleagues, subject matter experts and the CBE’s design team to communicate complex information in clear, accessible and engaging ways. The successful candidate will help advance and implement the CBE’s brand across a large and complex organization, ensuring communications and creative materials are consistent, effective and aligned with organizational standards.
The role requires strong writing, editing, relationship‑building and project coordination skills, as well as excellent judgment, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, adapting to evolving priorities and balancing planned initiatives with emerging communications needs.
While Communications Advisors contribute across a broad range of communications activities, this position will have a particular focus on content development, organizational communications and the creation of engaging communications products. The successful candidate will support organizational initiatives and work collaboratively with designers to translate information, data and ideas into clear, compelling communications materials. Experience supporting brand implementation, website content management, report development, organizational communications or visual communications projects will be considered an asset.

Advisors work closely with senior leadership (superintendents and directors), an elected Board of Trustees, internal clients, various levels of government, external agencies and community partners on a wide variety of high‑profile communication, engagement and corporate partnership initiatives and projects that directly impact the reputation and success of the CBE.
An advisor is a highly skilled, strategic and experienced professional whose performance earns the confidence of senior leaders (service unit and school‑based), other internal clients and promotes public and employee confidence in the CBE.
