Community Engagement Officer

In collaboration with law enforcement, government, and community partners, MCSC delivers investigative support, family assistance, and public awareness initiatives during critical moments.

The Opportunity
MCSC is seeking a Community Engagement Officer to drive outreach, partnerships, and digital engagement initiatives across Canada. This role connects communities, technology, and public safety — supporting the growth of MCSC’s Rescu app and Missing Persons Search Network (MPSN).
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is passionate about community impact, skilled at building relationships across diverse groups, and motivated by purpose-driven work.
Key Responsibilities
Community Outreach & Engagement
Execute community engagement strategies aligned with program goals
Promote MCSC initiatives through events, campaigns, and digital outreach
Recruit, train, and support volunteers and community ambassadors
Represent MCSC at events, speaking engagements, and community forums
Partnership Development
Build relationships with police, Indigenous communities, social services, and partner organizations
Support inclusive, culturally sensitive engagement initiatives
Maintain stakeholder relationships and track engagement activity
Digital Engagement & Communications
Support social media, content creation, and digital campaigns
Ensure accessible and inclusive outreach across platforms
Monitor engagement metrics and adjust strategies accordingly
Program Support & Reporting
Contribute to program delivery, reporting, and engagement tracking
Support fundraising initiatives and grant-related activities
Prepare reports, briefing materials, and updates for leadership
Crisis & Coordination Support
Collaborate with partners during active situations when required
Support coordination with external agencies and stakeholders

Digitally savvy: Comfortable with social media, content creation, and engagement tools
Adaptable: Flexible to work occasional evenings/weekends for events
Qualifications
Required:
3+ years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or similar roles
Post‑secondary education or equivalent experience
Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
Experience working with diverse and equity‑deserving communities
Digital literacy (social media, content tools, online platforms)
Trauma‑informed, culturally competent approach
Must be based in Canada
Assets:
Experience working with Indigenous communities, law enforcement, or government
Background in not‑for‑profit or public safety sectors
Bilingualism (English/French)
Experience with CRM tools or engagement tracking systems
Experience with grant writing or fundraising initiatives
