The Alberta Children’s Hospital seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse to support same-day and short-stay surgical patients aged from infants to 17 years.
Your role will focus on the nursing process in a dynamic environment, showcasing your leadership through mentoring new staff and ensuring a commitment to patient-centered care and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide patient care using the nursing process efficiently
• Mentor and orient new staff and nursing students
• Advocate for patients and demonstrate excellent care
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to solve problems
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving patients
Requirements:
• Accredited practical nurse education program completion
• Active LPN registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
• One year of experience in pediatric surgical settings
• Knowledge of AHS competencies preferred
