Reporting to the Unit Manager, LPNs are essential members of our emergency team, providing care to patients of varying acuity. You’ll be accountable to the public for your own practice, ensuring it meets legislative requirements, and the standards set by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA).
Description As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program.
Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS‑HCP).
Additional
Required Qualifications 2–4 years’ experience as an LPN.
Minimum one (1) year nursing experience obtained within the past 2 years working greater than 0.70 FTE.
Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in emergency or urgent care setting.
Ability to work as a member of a team and to request and accept direction.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills, within scope of practice, including clinical judgment, problem solving skills and strong decision‑making ability.
Demonstrates professional interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrates effective time management.
Demonstrates understanding of Family Centred Care philosophy.
Up to date ACE Modules.
