Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse at ACH

At ACH, the Licensed Practical Nurse plays an essential role in the Short Stay Surgical Unit, providing care to infants and youth undergoing surgical procedures. You will utilize critical thinking, teamwork, and patient advocacy in a fast-paced setting while mentoring new staff and ensuring family-centered quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care for same-day and short-stay patients

• Mentor and orient new staff and students

• Demonstrate patient advocacy and conflict resolution

• Utilize nursing processes for high-quality care

• Engage families in patient care discussions

Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited practical nurse program

• Active registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta

• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification

• Minimum 1-year pediatric surgical unit experience

• Preceptor experience highly preferred
