Reporting to the Executive Director, as a member of the Executive Team, the Nursing Manager is responsible for organization, development, and management of the nursing department, including cost management, personnel, materials, productivity, and quality of work; works closely with the Clinical Nurse Leader in planning for resident care within the organization according to strategic objectives and priorities; provides leadership for all new admissions, complex cases;

plans, coordinates, and leads family meetings; accountable for nursing related discipline/grievances, in collaboration with Employee Relations. The Nursing Manager promotes the philosophy, mission, objectives, and policies of The Salvation Army Agape Hospice hires, orientates, and supervises/coaches direct reports; prepares and delivers nursing team performance reviews.

Investigates complaints; receives and makes recommendations on all incidents, errors, and near misses for learning opportunities pertaining to the nursing section; ensures standard operating procedures for nursing are communicated frequently and met; reviews the nursing budget and alerts the Executive Director of any unusual variances; maintains medical supplies and equipment; prepares and maintains statistics for AHS reporting; maintains weekly nursing section communication processes of the whiteboard;

ensures Infection Prevention and Control protocols are consistently undertaken by all individuals entering resident rooms.

As identified in the AHS Service Provider’s Contract Staffing Obligations #10.01 (b) (v) The Nursing Lead is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• The direction of nursing services;
• Supervising Personnel
• Conducting and/or ensuring that formal interviews, tours, and meetings with potential Residential Hospice Clients occur prior to placement when needed
• Collaborating ensuring communication with the Manager of Hospice Operations/Hospice Access regarding; (a) Admissions that may require special considerations (b)
  Transfers of Residential Hospice Clients to the emergency department of admissions to acute care (c) Residential Hospice Client requests to move out of the facility (d) Use of emergency medical services (911)

• Works collaboratively with the Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) to provide…
