Registered Nurse​/Registered Psychiatric Nurse

The Claresholm Centre for Mental Health & Addictions is a 120-bed facility with an attached outpatient program (community support services) of 40 spaces. There are three primary inpatient units at the site including Concurrent Disorders, Active Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Extended Psychiatric Rehabilitation and Transitions Unit.

Professionals at the Centre believe in each individual’s potential for development and success. Our team includes nurses, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologist, physicians, pharmacists, recreational and occupational therapists, dieticians and other mental health providers.

Once a patient is ready for transition and re-entry into community living, follow-up support, outpatient programs and outreach services are coordinated for patients. These form a comprehensive treatment model with various service options for patients.

As the successful candidate you will be expected to demonstrate: time management and prioritization skills in a rapidly changing environment; be self-directed and show initiative; strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; problem solving, decision making, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills; patient advocacy using a person-centered approach; and foster positive relationships within a team environment.

Within the last 5 years, 1-3 years proven skills and experience in psychiatric, medical assessment and crisis intervention. Additionally, must have familiarity of the expectations of medical capabilities within mental health and be able to provide treatment as directed, assess potential difficulties, and respond to medical emergencies.

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

PLEASE NOTE:

Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 - $55.79 per hour. Upon being entered into the register as a Registered Nurse, the rate of pay will be adjusted in accordance with the UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.
