The South Health Campus SHC Addictions and Mental health Program is a group of dynamic multidisciplinary teams that work together to ensure our patients have the best standard of care and experience. This site has two Adult Inpatient units, a general psychiatry Unit 56 B and a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

C. As a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN)/ Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) on both Units 56 B and C you have a pivotal role as an integral member of our multidisciplinary healthcare team. Focused on in-patient acute psychiatric nursing, you will engage in collaborative efforts to provide holistic and comprehensive care, addressing the diverse needs of individuals, families, and  this position, you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop a robust plan of care to stabilize patients suffering from acute psychiatric illness.

Your responsibilities include delivering targeted interventions, with an awareness of evaluation to modify approaches based on evolving patient needs. Your scope of practice will encompass physical and mental status assessments, de-escalation, and conflict-resolution. Additionally, you will engage in discharge planning that promotes, maintains, and restores mental health, while preventing mental illness injury, and disability. In this role, you will also be responsible for facilitating and delivering applicable group content to the patients

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance.

You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of Recovery Alberta.

PLEASE NOTE:

Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 - $55.79 per hour. Upon being entered into the register as a Registered Nurse, the rate of pay will be adjusted in accordance with the UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.
