Deliver safe geriatric nursing care as a Registered Nurse with Age Care, applying clinical judgment, documentation, and teamwork to resident needs.
The Registered Nurse collaborates with the Director of Care to deliver individualized resident care within competency. This nursing position supports quality, safety, respect, teamwork, and resident rights. It requires knowledge of long-term care nursing, physician orders, and professional standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate nursing and other resident services within the neighbourhood
- Lead shift reports with members of the healthcare team
- Communicate changes in residents’ status to team members
- Record significant resident condition changes accurately
- Review and process physician orders promptly
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Background in geriatric, rehabilitation, or long-term care nursing
- Knowledge of activation, nursing, and personnel administration
- Knowledge of applicable nursing home legislation and regulations
- Good-standing registration and membership with the provincial registry
