Salary Range: $56,096.00/yr - $70,120.00/yr

At YMCA Calgary we strive to ensure our employees are a fit based on their strengths, interests, and future goals. The successful candidate will have the following:
- Completed a degree or diploma. Strong preference will be given to candidates with an Education degree. Other degrees that would be considered an asset are in Environment, Recreation, Physical Education/Kinesiology.
- Previous day camp or overnight camp and/or outdoor education experience as a supervisor
- Previous teaching experience in a classroom and/or outdoors
- Experience and comfort in the outdoors and wilderness travel
- Willingness to represent Camp Chief Hector and YMCA Camping publicly and at all times
- Supervisory experience with diverse teams located in different locations
- Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations:
Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John's Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol. - Other wilderness-based certifications
- Evidence of a clear Police Information Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
- Three professional references
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Oversee operations of our Outdoor Education and Weekend Programs at Camp Chief Hector
- Hire, train and provide performance management for Outdoor Education and Outdoor Programs supervisors, seasonal staff and direct reports
- Manage the program and site operations Health and Safety obligations as defined by law and YMCA policies
- Manage the outdoor education and outdoor programs budgets and purchase equipment and supply inventories
- Maintain and research high quality program options
- Collaborate and provide leadership within the CCHY management team and all department teams
- Represent Camp Chief Hector and YMCA Calgary at all times
- Contribute to YMCA outdoors programming within all of YMCA Calgary
- Set and maintain school registration cadence, school expectations, and revenue budgets
- Set and maintain weekend inquiry and bookings system, manage wait lists and client relationships
