Position Summary
Stampede Park is seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as a Seasonal Groundskeeper and Landscaping Labours. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining the outdoor spaces of Stampede Park, ensuring park cleanliness, and installing and maintaining park pageantry during our peak season.
Groundskeeper and Landscaping Labours - positions available are seasonal positions staring:
March - September
We are hiring multiple candidates. These positions will require the successful candidates to work flexible hours throughout the week and on weekends.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Adhering to all safety and environmental protection programs, policies, and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
- Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of park grounds, including picking up litter and debris
- Perform landscaping tasks such as mowing, edging, and trimming grass
- Plant, water, and maintain flowers, shrubs, and trees
- Install and maintain park pageantry, including banners and decorations
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment and tools
- Assist with special projects and events as needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience in landscaping or groundskeeping preferred.
- Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license (non-GDL), with a minimum of one (2) year driving experience required.
- Knowledge of landscaping techniques and equipment.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Must have CSA approved steel/composite-toe work boots.
Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting upwards of 50 lbs. with occasional lifting to 75 lbs.
- Pushing, pulling, crouching, bending, and reaching frequently.
- Exposure to dust, heat, pollen, animals, and variability of seasonal climate.
- Physical and visual acuity is required.
