Santa Fe Pet Hospital, part of the Pet Vet Care Centers network, is seeking a highly motivated Associate Veterinarian to join its team in Calgary, Alberta, Canada for 2026. This is a premium, full-time professional opportunity offering an attractive annual salary range of CAD 175,000 to CAD 200,000, along with substantial bonus, relocation, and career development support.

As an Associate Veterinarian, you will play a central role in delivering comprehensive, high-quality medical and surgical care to companion animals. Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive physical examinations, diagnostics, and treatment planning
  • Conduct surgical procedures, dental treatments, and medical interventions
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners regarding diagnoses and care plans
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical records and case documentation
  • Prescribe medications and manage pharmacy and controlled substance protocols
  • Monitor hospitalized patients and participate in daily medical rounds
  • Collaborate with the hospital management team on clinical standards and workflows
  • Support staff development, teamwork, and efficient clinical operations
  • Participate in training, protocol reviews, and practice improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited institution
  • Eligibility for veterinary licensure in the relevant jurisdiction
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical veterinary practice experience
  • Strong diagnostic, surgical, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
  • Physical ability to perform clinical duties, including lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Commitment to ethical practice, continuing education, and high standards of care
