Join Onterris as a Wildlife Biologist supporting field operations at a northern Alberta mine site. This Junior position offers a chance to be involved in vital wildlife surveys and habitat assessments.
Working on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation, you will play a key role in conducting bird and wildlife surveys and engage in amphibian captures. Your commitment to safety and strong communication skills will be essential, as you collaborate with field crew and project leads.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct bird and wildlife surveys including nest sweeps
• Participate in risk assessment and crew safety meetings
• Collect accurate digital data and photo documentation
• Record daily updates for crew leads and project management
• Support the deployment of field equipment and cameras
Requirements:
•
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in relevant biological sciences
• 2-4+ years of wildlife field experience
• Experience with wildlife data collection methods
• Valid Class 5 driver's license needed
• Ability to operate ATVs/UTVs in remote locations
