Wildlife Conservation Assistant Zoo

Join the Wilder Institute's Calgary Zoo as an Animal Care Assistant, where you will directly impact wildlife conservation efforts through dedicated animal care and maintenance. This full-time role focuses on both animal welfare and habitat cleanliness.

Your contributions will encompass feeding animals, maintaining habitats, and enforcing standards of care. This position offers a pathway to deepen your knowledge of animal welfare practices and protocols. You'll be a vital part of the team promoting conservation and educating the public about wildlife.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing and delivering diets for various species

• Ensure habitats are clean and meet organizational standards

• Report maintenance needs and observe animal behaviors

• Help implement habitat changes for animal enrichment

• Engage with visitors through educational talks on wildlife conservation

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Zoology or related experience preferred

• Previous animal care experience beneficial

• Knowledge of conservation practices desired

• Must hold a Class 5 Alberta driver's license

• Strong commitment to team collaboration and safety
