Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Associate General Practice Veterinarian (DVM) to join our team in Turlock, California. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality veterinary care, communicate effectively with clients, and work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff, as well as the Hospital Manager and Regional Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient exams and medical work‑ups
  • Communicate and educate clients
  • Perform diagnostic procedures and surgery
  • Maintain accurate medical records
  • Prescribe medications and follow controlled substance protocols
  • Promote teamwork and staff efficiency
  • Collaborate with the Hospital Manager on weekly priorities and expectations
  • Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily hospital operations from intake to discharge
  • Attend daily rounds when possible to uphold high standards
  • Participate in practice management updates and training at all levels
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
Qualifications (Required)
  • Veterinary degree (DVM) from an accredited college or university
  • Current State Veterinary License
  • DEA registration obtained and maintained
  • 1+ years of experience in a veterinary practice
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical skills
  • Excellent surgical and dental skills
  • Team‑oriented work experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, high‑quality veterinary care
  • Effective communication with both clients and staff
  • Ability to handle pets with severe stress, illness, or pain with confidence and reassurance
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
  • Clinical knowledge in cardiovascular, respiratory, orthopedic, neurological, and other examinations
  • Problem‑solving skills for high‑quality veterinary hospital management
  • Effective communication of diagnostic and therapeutic options to clients and staff
  • Professionalism and constructive feedback within a veterinary team
  • Business acumen related to veterinary hospital finances
  • Understanding of ethical principles guiding patient decisions
  • Commitment to continuing education and facilitation of others’ learning
