Davey Tree Expert Climbing Arborist

Become a Climbing Arborist with Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada in Calgary, Alberta. This full-time, on-site position offers a hands-on approach to vegetation management.

In this role, you’ll primarily work in tree canopies, applying your climbing skills to prune, thin, and remove deadwood effectively. You'll interact directly with the public and assist fellow crew members in job preparation and cleanup. Experience in tree care is essential for ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ascend trees for pruning and deadwood removal

• Set up installation of support systems for trees

• Operate tools, including chainsaws and chippers

• Maintain cleanliness and organization at job sites

• Adhere to industry safety protocols rigorously

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of climbing experience required

• Must be a Certified Arborist or pursue certification

• Strong shrub and tree identification skills

• Capacity to lift and carry 50 lbs

• Valid driver’s license with preferred 5-ton vehicle experience
