Animal Resource Centre Support Technician

Join the Animal Resource Centre as a Core Support Technician at the University of Calgary. This full-time, limited-term position focuses on ensuring high sanitation standards and equipment operation.

In this role, you'll provide critical support in maintaining a disease-free environment for laboratory animals over a 24-month term. Key tasks include cleaning and monitoring equipment, heavy lifting, and adhering to strict safety protocols in a hot, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure cleanliness in washing and sterilizing pet care equipment

• Operate specialized equipment such as autoclaves

• Report any maintenance requirements without delay

• Maintain a safe and sanitary work area

• Support the training of new staff members

Requirements:

• High School Diploma with relevant experience in industrial equipment

• Strong ability to work both independently and in a team

• Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and safety procedures

• Valid Alberta driver's license essential

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
