This on-call role offers an opportunity to contribute to animal welfare while working in an immersive, conservation-driven facility. You'll assist with daily animal care tasks, ensure cleanliness, and engage with the public to promote wildlife education. Ideal for those passionate about animal care and conservation, this position allows for skill development and growth through hands-on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare prescribed diets for various animal species
• Clean and disinfect animal habitats to exceed standards
• Participate in pest management strategies
• Communicate maintenance needs to specialists and management
• Support habitat enrichment and changes as needed
Requirements:
• Bachelor's in Zoology or related field preferred
• Previous animal care experience in zoo settings
• Familiarity with animal welfare and conservation practices
• Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license required
• Ability to adapt to changing work conditions
