Utility Vegetation Planner

Enhance utility vegetation management with Davey Tree Expert Co. of Canada as a Utility Management Planner. This hybrid role involves strategic planning, client interaction, and expert vegetation control.

As a Utility Forest Technician, you will manage extensive vegetation workloads for utility clients across Alberta. You'll create effective work manifests for tree crews, ensuring reliable power delivery by harmonizing operational plans with GIS tools. Your expertise in vegetation management will directly support compliance and efficiency in utility operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol and assess right-of-way vegetation for GIS plans

• Develop vegetation prescriptions for tree clearing and herbicide application

• Coordinate pre-operation permitting with governmental agencies

• Conduct site audits to verify execution of management plans

• Serve as a contact point for utility customers in affected areas

Requirements:

• Degree in forestry, environmental science, or related field preferred

• 3+ years of experience in arboriculture or vegetation management

• ISA Certified Arborist or equivalent qualifications preferred

• Strong knowledge of forestry practices and utility operations

• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Canada
