Division Overview

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees, teas, and new energy drinks. Position Overview

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Coordinator will manage and coordinate all Environmental, Health, and Safety activities within the plant to proactively drive programs and foster a safe and healthy work environment for all employees. This role collaborates with the Corporate Environmental Health and Safety department to align on safety goals and achieve a world‑class safety level at the facility.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and regularly update internal safety programs and provide monthly training to reinforce a strong safety culture.
  • Develop and implement a Severity and Injury Fatality (SIF) mitigation program to reduce high‑risk incidents.
  • Lead compliance training for all leadership, ensuring required certification and adherence to regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Deliver human and operational performance training to promote continuous improvement and a safety culture.
  • Drive the implementation of Safe Start and internal programs, emphasizing human factors.
  • Conduct root cause investigations for incidents, near‑miss events, and hazards, ensuring timely reporting and corrective actions.
  • Maintain full compliance with provincial, federal, local, and corporate environmental, health, and safety regulations, policies, and standards, with proper documentation for audits.
  • Track and ensure timely completion of internal audit corrective actions and corporate audit findings.
  • Oversee compliance for hazardous waste, air quality, and water programs.
  • Drive pollution prevention initiatives and implement waste minimization strategies.
  • Ensure effective hazard communication and training, maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Manage noise exposure programs, including audiometric testing.
  • Maintain comprehensive hazardous energy control programs (Lockout/Tagout) to protect employees during equipment servicing and maintenance.
Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
  • 3‑5 years of experience in an environmental, health and safety role.
  • Experience in a high‑speed manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of all local, provincial, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Flexibility to work any shift to support employees on all shifts.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Velocity and Alchemy considered an asset.
  • Approximately 10% overnight travel.
Preferred Requirements
  • Professional EHS certifications.

Physical Requirements

The role requires sitting, standing, walking, using hands, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

Work is conducted in an office setting and requires daily presence inside a plant environment. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, vehicular traffic, a wide range of temperatures, and frequent loud noise levels.
