About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular Full‑Time Quality Assurance Manager – Testing Services to join our dynamic Quality Assurance – Medical Services and Innovation team. This role ensures the safety and quality of Testing Services at CBS, applying quality management system (QMS) principles to donor testing and diagnostics processes.
Key responsibilities
- Manage, execute and evaluate established quality assurance activities, ensuring effective people and process management.
- Lead the development and success of the QA‑Testing Services team, implementing performance‑based measurements aligned with strategic objectives.
- Partner and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure QMS procedures and tools meet user business needs and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and trend process performance and product quality data to maintain compliance with specifications and regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives from development and implementation to ongoing monitoring and optimization.
- Maintain strong, integrated relationships with all CBS teams, including Medical Affairs and Innovation.
Desired education and skills
- Post‑secondary level science‑based education; bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional education and experience.
- Minimum of three years of progressive experience in a pharmaceutical, medical device or biological manufacturing environment following Good Manufacturing Practices, or in‑depth knowledge of a comparable QMS.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in an QA function within a testing or diagnostics program/organization following Good Manufacturing Practices.
- 1‑3 years of progressive management experience.
- Certification or formalized education in Quality Management Systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of QMS elements and analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Effective interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common business software packages.
- Familiarity with electronic budget preparation and monitoring.
