Subsurface Dynamics Inc. is a Calgary-based engineering and technology company building real-time systems for the hydraulic fracturing industry.
LocationCalgary (preferred) or Remote (Americas time zones)
Role SummaryWe are looking for a Data QC & Monitoring Analyst to support real-time operations of our frac monitoring platform.
Responsibilities- Real-Time Monitoring
- Monitor active jobs (8–12 projects concurrently)
- Ensure data is flowing correctly
- Identify missing or delayed data
- Data QC
- Check incoming data for consistency and completeness
- Flag anomalies or unexpected behavior
- Apply predefined QC rules
- Issue Escalation
- Detect issues early
- Escalate to integration engineer when needed
- Communicate clearly during live operations
- Basic Interpretation (Guided)
- Perform simple checks on outputs
- Identify obvious inconsistencies
- Follow structured interpretation guidelines
- Documentation
- Log issues
- Track recurring problems
- Maintain QC notes
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow structured processes
- Comfortable working non-standard hours (evenings / weekends)
- Clear communication
- Oil and gas industry exposure
- Experience with data monitoring or operations
- Basic technical understanding (logs, dashboards)
- Reliability over brilliance
- Fast learning
- Consistency
- Calm under pressure
- Able to learn quickly and operate with minimal supervision
- Not a research role
- Not a deep engineering role
- Not independent decision-making
