I am working with a key Oil & Gas producer client who are seeking a Rotating Equipment Inspection Engineer to join their Calgary team on a long term contract basis.
Role PurposeThe Senior Rotating Equipment QA/Inspection Engineer is responsible for overseeing vendor manufacturing, inspection, testing, and documentation for rotating equipment purchased under project purchase orders. This role ensures all equipment meets project specifications, quality requirements, and contractual obligations through disciplined vendor surveillance, technical review, and inspection coordination.

Provide engineering comments and recommendations during vendor selecti - on.
Support Supply Chain with technical clarifications and bid evaluatio
- ent Manage rotating equipment inspection assignme nts for centrifugal pumps, compressors, steam turbines, gearboxes, and related equipme
- nt.
Review vendor and sub‑vendor I TP s, quality plans, and test procedures for compliance with project require men - ts.
Select, assign, and mentor Third‑Party Inspectors (TP Is) throughout fabricati - on.
Conduct Pre‑Inspection Meetings (PI Ms) with vendors, either remotely or at vendor faciliti - es.
Coordinate inspection activities across multiple vendors and sub‑vendo
- ing Review inspection repo rts for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with PO require men
- ts.
Distribute inspection findings, signed ITPs, and surveillance reports to project tea - ms.
Conduct interim and ad‑hoc vendor visits as requir - ed.
Witness specialty inspections and FAT/SAT te sts when required by stakeholde
- ion Oversee NCRs, fabrication issues, and outstanding it ems raised during inspectio
- ns.
Work with vendors, engineering, and supply chain to resolve technical deviatio - ns.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented and verifi
- out Review vendor technical documentation and Manufacturer Data Bo oks for completeness and complian
- ce.
Validate inspection hours and travel invoices against inspection repor - ts.
Support final acceptance and turnover documentati
- ions
Mini mum 5 y ears experience in rotating equipment QA, inspection, vendor surveillance, or mechanical equipment manufactur - ing.
Strong knowledge of rotating equipment: pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, seals, bearings, lubrication syst - ems.
Experience with ITPs, FAT/SAT, QA/QC processes, NCRs, and vendor document at - ion.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, datasheets, and specificati - ons.
Strong communication skills for interfacing with vendors, TPIs, engineering, and supply ch - ain.
P.Eng (AP EGA) is an asset but not requ ired.
Ability to travel to vendor facilities as nee
