Job Summary
Reporting to the Quality Control Inspection Lead, the Quality Control Inspector will perform first‑off, in‑process, and final inspections of Steelhaus products. The Inspector will coordinate with other departments including assembly, manufacturing, and shipping/receiving.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepping equipment prior to inspection
Verify dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments
Perform first‑article inspections on all product runs
Initiate non‑conformance reports (NCRs) for all parts that do not meet requirements
Identify and segregate NCR parts and notify the Quality Inspection Lead
Perform routine housekeeping tasks around the QC inspection area
Assist in the maintenance of the NCR area as required, ensuring parts are identified
Identify tools requiring calibration and perform calibration of measurement tools
Handle emails, perform photocopying and printing
Identify needs for consumables to the QC Inspection Lead
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Able to read and understand part drawings and possess general knowledge of GD&T
2+ years in a similar role
Experience using a variety of hand inspection tools
Experience with specialized instruments such as surface finish gauge, wall thickness gauge, and CMM is considered an asset
Basic computer skills (MS Office)
