The QA/QC Associate supports daily quality assurance and quality control functions to ensure that all products meet regulatory, safety, and company quality standards. The role involves monitoring production processes, conducting inspections, and maintaining documentation related to food safety systems such as HACCP, GMP, and SQF standards. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in meat processing or food manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control (QC):

  • Perform routine in-process, environmental, and finished product inspections.
  • Conduct sensory, physical, and visual quality checks when required.
  • Monitor and verify Critical Control Points (CCPs) as per HACCP plan.
  • Collect samples for internal/external laboratory analysis.
  • Inspect packaging, labeling, and product weights as per company’s guidelines.

Quality Assurance (QA):

  • Assist in implementation and maintenance of SQF system.
  • Participate in regulatory inspections and third-party audits if required.
  • Review production documentation, sanitation logs, and QC records for compliance.
  • Support root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Operational Support:

  • Coordinate with production, maintenance, and sanitation teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Conduct basic food safety and GMP training for production employees.
  • Assist in managing customer complaints and product traceability exercises.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in QA/QC within meat processing or food manufacturing.
  • Good understanding of HACCP, GMP, and food safety management systems.
  • Familiarity with microbiological testing and quality inspection techniques.
  • Strong documentation, auditing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in cold-room or chilled production environments (for meat sector roles).

Preferred Qualifications

  • HACCP certification, Internal audit certifications would be an asset.
  • Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Knowledge of meat processing operations or protein-based food manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
