Description

The Department of Psychiatry in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Analyst
. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

The primary purpose of the position is to support the Principal Investigator and the research team in collaboration with the Hospital for Sick Children, specifically with data analysis. Our team investigates child and adolescent mental health including neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., ADHD, autism, OCD) with a focus on the role of clinical factors, environmental factors and unpacking factors that contribute to psychiatric comorbidity.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator.

Summary of

Key Responsibilities
  • Aid in data cleaning and quality control, including preparation of basic descriptive
  • Conduct data analysis under the supervision of the Principal Investigator and research team
  • Clearly communicate and interpret study results to research team members
  • Work closely with the Principal Investigators, Research Lab Manager, and other team members in the development of reports, grant proposals, presentation materials, and manuscripts relevant to the assigned project, including literature review and data analysis
  • Conduct background research and assist in preparing materials for use in recruitment activities and scholarly publications
  • Attend team meetings
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Minimum Master s degree is required, preferably in Psychology, Statistics and/or Biological Science
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills and theoretical understanding of statistics
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., R) is required
  • Previous clinical research data experience is an asset
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational abilities
  • Motivated and keen to learn new skills
  • Ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders
  • High precision and attention to detail, patience and ability to work with complex tasks
  • Must be comfortable independently while working in a diverse research team and have good interpersonal skills
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability in professional writing, preparing reports and conducting literature reviews for the purpose of presentation and publication
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
