Description
The MOMENTUM (MOvement, MENopause and opTimUM health) in the Faculty of Kinesiology invites applications for a Research Assistant. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
The MOMENTUM research project is a collaborative of Kinesiology researchers at the University of Calgary. MOMENTUM is a cohort study, investigating wellness across menopause (pre, peri, and post). The CPT position will be under the direct supervision of Dr. Culos-Reed, and supported by the MOMENTUM core team of principle investigators (12 in Kinesiology) and the MOMENTUM research coordinator.
The primary purpose of this position is to support MOMENTUM cohort work with data collection and operations logistics at the university as well as potential assessments at community locations. (You can see more about MOMENTUM at )
This is a dynamic role where the incumbent is expected to work on MOMENTUM projects, reporting directly to Dr. Nicole Culos-Reed, and working closely with the MOMENTUM research coordinator. The incumbent will contribute to the MOMENTUM cohort testing and data input, as well as administrative tasks associated with cohort maintenance. The incumbent will use their expertise to effectively manage complex participant issues and minimize the potential for errors within the data collection.
This role requires frequent interaction with clients, as well as with other staff, students and researchers; therefore, strong communication skills are required. This work will require availability between 7:00am and 3:00pm on weekdays for up to 30 hours per week to conduct testing in-person and through Zoom at the University of Calgary, and at community partner sites throughout Calgary and Alberta.

Key Responsibilities
Customer service
- Follow-up with research team as necessary for study components
- Provide participant feedback within program
- All work will be supported by the MOMENTUM team and with the MOMENTUM research coordinator
Data Collection/Analysis
- Cognitive testing, according to the research-based MOMENTUM protocol
- Keep meticulous and accurate records of all tests (database entry) and data export
- Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology; or similar health science degree
- High level of effective organizational, time and personal initiative skills, teamwork and communication skills, accuracy, and strong attention to detail
- Assets
- Experience in a research environment.
- Access data entry and report layout/design
- Knowledge of REDCap and use of Microsoft/Google suites
- Ability to work and travel across sites for MOMENTUM testing
