Join Ridgeline Archaeology and Culture as a Supervising Archaeologist, leading field teams in vital cultural heritage assessments in British Columbia and Alberta. This role combines outdoor fieldwork with strong leadership and safety compliance.
You will support Field Directors by managing field crews, conducting detailed subsurface testing, and documenting findings meticulously. Your expertise in heritage legislation will be crucial as you promote best practices in safety and project compliance, all while fostering a team-oriented environment built on respect and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead diverse fieldwork activities including testing and hiking
• Manage report writing and data documentation tasks
• Solve logistical challenges as a key field leader
• Ensure maintenance and readiness of all equipment
• Encourage safe work practices among team members
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Archaeology (or in progress)
• 1-2+ years of fieldwork experience in BC or Alberta
• Class 5 Driver’s License and Intermediate First Aid
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills
