Support Indigenous faculty and researchers as the Indigenous Research Coordinator (Grants). This role focuses on facilitating access to financial resources and advancing Indigenous research initiatives.
Acting as a key liaison, the Indigenous Research Coordinator (Grants) provides essential support to Indigenous scholars, aiding in their research projects by sharing insights on grant applications and Indigenous Data Sovereignty. This role plays a vital part in fostering a culturally affirming environment that supports retention and advancement in academia.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one consultation on research project planning
• Offer instruction on Indigenous Data Sovereignty practices
• Assist in funding application reviews for Indigenous research
• Develop key guidance documents and resources
• Facilitate Indigenous Research Community of Practice events
Requirements:
• At least an undergraduate degree
• 2-3 years of relevant research support experience
• Strong grasp of Indigenous research methodologies
• Competent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Acknowledged cultural competency by Indigenous communities
Empower Indigenous researchers and facilitate impactful community-centered projects within the university framework.
