The Community Health Sciences in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Analyst, Health Technology Assessment Unit. This Full-time Fixed Term position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Director of Health Technology Assessment Unit. At the Health Technology Assessment Unit, we are a team of dedicated health services researchers who are passionate about bridging the gap between science and policy.

Together, we offer a unique skill set in systematic reviews, health economics, program evaluation and research design and methodology. Our vision is to be a leader in supporting evidence-informed health policy with innovative and relevant research.

Summary of

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and execute systematic reviews of published and grey literature
  • Enable efficient team collaboration across multiple research objectives
  • Creativity in methodological approaches and their application to policy relevant work
  • Execute multiple projects in a timely fashion while upholding the best practices for scientific rigor
  • Effectively communicate and enable best practices for the research team within the field of knowledge synthesis and policy analysis
  • Preparation of manuscripts for publication, and other dissemination activities.
  • Contribute to and foster the positive team environment
  • Manage multiple projects to deliver on time in accordance with the Unit's commitment to high quality evidence-informed research
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Master's of Science Degree required with significant experience in health research
  • PhD is an asset
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Extensive experience in systematic review or other knowledge synthesis methodologies
  • Knowledge of analytic approaches to other types of quantitative data, such as administrative data, is an asset
  • Ability to provide support to other members of the team and related units and teams
  • Demonstrated strength in communication, interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Demonstrated proficiency in scientific writing, including scientific abstracts, manuscripts for peer-review, and other scientific products
  • Knowledge of the Universities core business systems is desirable
  • Ability to coordinate requests and needs across the multidisciplinary, multi-institutional team
