Position: Cook 3 - SAIT Curated Catering
The Hotel Arts Group is currently looking for a Cook 3 for SAIT Curated Catering. We are looking for someone who will consistently provide quality and production for 200+ students and faculty daily in an organized and effective manner. This cook will primarily be working alongside the Dining Hall Chef to provide excellent culinary service to students and faculty in the SAIT Begin Dining Hall.
They will also be responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the cafeteria.
The successful applicant will possess the following traits:
High level of interest with food and have a keen interest in the culinary artsGood eye for detail in plating and presenting foodDemonstrate a good understanding of large batch western cooking, global dietary cultures, and trendsAble to take given product and replicate recipesWork quickly and demonstrate an ability to multitaskAble to think independently in creating 3 healthy, nutritious, and filling cafeteria style meals that appear to a wide variety of peopleAbility to work alongside team members in managing daily orders and purchasingExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsDisplays attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team effectively in a busy kitchenHas flexibility towards their environmentWill ensure all menu items are prepared efficiently to standard and to customer requirementsWill ensure all mis en place is completed in a timely and efficient mannerWill ensure the cleanliness and proper storage of all food productsWill ensure all appropriate provincial health regulations and food handling techniquesIs mindful of maintaining a clean and organized work areaIs aware of food cost, portion, and waste controlsWill work with the stewarding team to ensure that the cafeteria is clean, tidy, and orderly alwaysQualifications &Skills1 year experience in a similar position is preferredLarge Volume Cookery ExperienceAvailability for breakfast, lunch, and dinner serviceFlexible weekly schedulePhysically able to stand and move during the length of shift; able to bend and kneel through the shift; able to lift 25 pounds or morePlease apply online with your resume and cover letter to the attention of the Human Resources Department.
