Position: Sous Chef - The Dusty Boot Saloon & Dance Hall
Location: BanffWe’re seeking a Sous Chef to join our team at The Dusty Boot! The Dusty Boot Saloon & Dance Hall — the home of fancy cocktails, cold beer, western grub, and live music. A dressed-up saloon in a dressed-down cocktail lounge, featuring weathered wood, warm leather, the glow of neon, and the sweet sound of boots on the dance floor. Enjoy bar games, cowboy karaoke, billiards, and a chef-driven menu.
Saddle up and settle in — must be whisky-drinking age (18+). This position is part of a shared kitchen team supporting both The Dusty Boot and The Balkan Restaurant.

Support the Chef de Cuisine in delivering high-quality food and exceptional guest experiencesHelp lead and motivate the kitchen team, fostering a positive, efficient work environmentMaintain kitchen organization, cleanliness, and operational efficiencyOversee food preparation to ensure consistency, quality, presentation, and standards are metEnsure stations are properly stocked and ready for peak service periodsManage inventory, ordering, and record-keeping while minimizing wasteAssist with food and supply ordering to meet operational needs, on time and within budgetAssist with training, coaching, and developing kitchen team membersAct as an ambassador for BHC by helping identify and hire great culinary talentWhat You Have:
2-3 years culinary experience is requiredPrior experience in a supervisory kitchen role is an assetFood Safety and WHMIS certification required (we can help you get certified if needed)Knowledge of kitchen training best practices and standard operating proceduresAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environment while staying calm under pressureStrong leadership and teamwork skills with a collaborative mindsetConnecting with people and building trusting relationships comes easy to youStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapportFlexible schedule required
