Fun Summer Job – Campground Store Personnel (Ice Cream Scooper Extraordinaire!)

Location: Boulton Creek Campground, Peter Lougheed Provincial Park, Kananaskis Country

Position Summary

As a Campground Store Personnel member, you’ll be at the heart of guest services—serving campers with a smile, assisting with reservations and check‑ins, keeping the store and comfort station clean and welcoming, and—most importantly—scooping ice cream! You'll play a key role in helping guests have an enjoyable and relaxing stay in one of Alberta’s most beautiful provincial parks.

Season:
June 19 – September 6

Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet guests with a cheerful attitude and a helping hand.
  • Provide front‑line service at the store, reservations counter, café, and ice cream counter.
  • Scoop and serve ice cream with flair as a highlight of our summer season.
  • Resolve customer issues when possible or elevate them to management as needed.
  • Assist guests with campground check‑ins and site information.
  • Accurately handle cash and credit card transactions for store purchases and reservations.
  • Keep shelves stocked, surfaces clean, and the store welcoming and organized.
  • Monitor inventory and help with restocking and pricing.
  • Watch for any safety or maintenance issues and report them promptly.
  • Stay informed about the campground, including site info, amenities, and activities.
  • Provide visitors with directions and suggestions for local attractions and hiking trails.
  • Help campers find their way and make the most of their trip.
Qualifications and Qualities
  • Friendly, reliable, and customer‑service focused.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a similar role preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred or currently enrolled).
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Current First Aid Level 1 (course will be provided; employment contingent on completion).
  • Criminal Record Check required prior to hiring; cost reimbursed; employment contingent on a clear record.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and evenings as required by the campground’s operational needs. A schedule will be provided for successful applicants.
