Parttime Sales Associate

Role Description

The Part-time Sales Associate role is an on-site position based in Calgary, AB. This role involves greeting customers, understanding their preferences, and providing recommendations on wines, craft beers, and spirits. The Sales Associate will assist with daily store operations, including stocking shelves, merchandising displays, maintaining cleanliness, and handling point-of-sale transactions accurately. The role also includes learning about new products, supporting tastings or in-store promotions, and ensuring that guests feel welcome and informed.

Part-time staff are expected to support occasional off-site events, so some evening availability is required.

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide attentive, friendly support.
• Interest in wine, beer, and spirits, with a willingness to learn about product styles, regions, and tasting profiles.
• Basic cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience, with attention to detail and accuracy in transactions.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting boxes (up to 35lbs), stocking shelves, and standing for extended periods.
• Clear verbal communication skills and comfort engaging with a diverse range of customers.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Previous retail, hospitality, or tasting room experience is an asset but not required.
• Minimum legal age to handle and sell alcoholic beverages in Alberta and valid Pro-Serve is required.
• WSET Certifications are considered an asset.
