• Provide customer service and maintain positive customer relations through proper handling of questions, comments, requests, and complaints.
• Work in a diverse team environment in a proficient and friendly manner.
• Plan and perform all aspects of meat wrapping functions, including stocking, displays, and facing in an efficient and organized manner.
• Ensure display presentation and stock levels are maintained.
• Handle merchandise to ensure quality, minimize damages and markdowns, provide substitutions, and ensure price integrity.
• Perform general cleanup duties such as cleaning spills, display fixtures, and maintaining a neat and organized department.
• Hydrate and sanitize the department as required.
• Keep the sales floor and back‑stock area clean of cardboard and debris, and dispose of garbage appropriately.
• Follow Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers.
• Use and maintain equipment and tools properly, and report repair requirements to the Meat Supervisor, Meat or Duty Manager.
• Order merchandise and supplies and manage all aspects of ordering.
• Receive products, review and verify invoices, returns, transfers, claims, and ensure proper storage.
• Assist in organizing and conducting inventory.
• Assist a customer, if trained, to use a knife and the meat grinders to provide any ground product when a meat cutter is unavailable.

• Grade 9 or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Previous retail or related experience with customer service.
• Fluent in English (CLBA – Canadian Language Benchmark Assessment score of 5 or higher).
• Previous meat wrapping or related retail meat experience (desired).
• Knowledge of ordering and receiving procedures (desired).
• Must successfully complete and maintain the following courses:
  Foodwise #14 within one year.
