Position Summary

Working as a Self‑Checkout Attendant at Walmart Canada offers a great opportunity to build valuable skills in customer service and retail operations. Maintains a clean, safe, and organized self checkout area, ensuring it remains free of fixtures, unnecessary debris, foreign objects, and spills.

Supports the promotion of company sponsored programs, including credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable initiatives, when applicable.

Helps customers use self checkout quickly and confidently by offering assistance when needed, monitoring activity, and completing required checks. Clearly explain any interventions in a friendly, reassuring way and escalates cash or technical issues to the Customer Service Manager.

Responds to EAS alarms in accordance with procedures and accurately completes the “Failure to Deactivate” log.

Ensures Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated storage locations after use.

Be open to working a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. Your adaptability helps ensure the store runs smoothly and customers receive consistent, high‑quality service.

• High Task Volume in a Fast‑Paced Environment – Manage overnight hours effectively and plan accordingly to stay energized and focused.
• Physical Demands – Perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, lifting inventory, equipment, or supplies weighing up to 20 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 lbs.; perform repetitive tasks such as stocking, zoning, and organizing products with attention to detail and consistency to uphold store standards.

The minimum rate of pay for this position starts from $18.75.
