Our client is the leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider for general insurance. Following its recent expansion into the Canadian market, a need has arisen to hire a Sales Manager in the Calgary area.
Main responsibilities- Contacting, presenting and negotiating with prospective customers including contract terms and specific technical requirements, both virtually and in person
- Understanding of complex technology solutions to enable detailed demonstrations of the platform in sales opportunities
- Maintaining a detailed database within the CRM system of prospective customers which will include several key criteria for each prospect
- Assisting in the development of sales strategy
- Supporting the development and building up of the future sales team
- Refining promotional material including customer proposition, distinctiveness and advantages
- Proactively managing workload between prospecting, sales demos and follow up activity
- Representing the company at industry events including trade shows, conferences and customer events
- A proven track record of sales in Insurance (2+ years in broking industry)
- Hunter mentality, grit and determination
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce or related field preferred
- Knowledge of the Insurance industry and processes through professional experience
- Demonstrated interest in and experience of using IT and software
- Experience using Insurance Broker Management Systems (BMS) would be great
- This is a client-focused role where an ability to build relationships with customers and strong communication skills are essential
- A logical approach to providing multiple solutions to client issues
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to functionality changes and new concepts
- Ability to identify areas of development for the application and articulate the opportunity it represents
- Ability to work autonomously with high levels of proactivity, initiative and motivation
- Must be able to travel within Canada as required and internationally on occasion
- Located preferably in the Greater Calgary Area
Salary goes up to around CAN $95K + 20-30% bonus + great benefits.
