Now we’re ready to accelerate how we grow, and we’re hiring a Director of Business Development to support the Western Canadian market.

• Own a market. A decade of Alberta relationships, a known name in Calgary’s innovation community, and Western Canada to build on. You’ll have a direct line to leadership.
• Sell something buyers want. Better lawyers, lower cost, no bloated overhead. A disruptor’s pitch, not a discount.
• Sell the future of law. We have a department dedicated to Legal Innovation, and our lawyers use technology to optimize how they deliver value.
• Have a team behind you. Marketing campaigns that run alongside your outreach, plus Client Advisory and Client Happiness teams (with service scores double the industry average) that turn your wins into renewals and referrals.

• Build a targeted pipeline of General Counsel, Legal Operations and C-suite buyers across Alberta and British Columbia tech, energy and high-growth companies, guided by our Ideal Client Profile.
• Run multi-channel outbound campaigns (phone, email and Linked In) in step with our marketing team.
• Lead discovery meetings, pitches and RFP responses, and close complex, multi-matter legal services mandates.
• Grow existing accounts through cross-selling and matching the right lawyer to every mandate.
• Represent Caravel across Alberta and British Columbia at events ranging from Platform Calgary to industry forums.
• Own your number: carry a quota, keep your CRM sharp and forecast accurately.

• 7+ years of B2B business development selling professional services to C-suite executives or corporate legal departments (legal services experience is an asset).
• A track record of exceeding quota and closing complex, consultative deals with CEOs, CFOs and General Counsel.
• Comfort with true outbound: cold calls, cold emails and booking your own meetings
• An established network in the Western Canadian business community.
• An entrepreneurial approach, backed by a disciplined, repeatable sales process.
• Experience with Hub Spot (CRM), Linked In Sales Navigator or Clio is a plus.
