Laboratory Technician C - Hydrocarbon

Summary

AGAT Laboratories is currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to join our Hydrocarbon Lab. This is an entry level position where one can gain career experience in a laboratory with direction from the Laboratory Supervisor and other Laboratory team members. The successful candidate will assist with basic laboratory activities. This position will be based from our Calgary location.

• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
• Operate instruments such as GC-FID and TCD, with guidance from senior staff performing maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
• Perform basic analysis.
• Report results.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Post-secondary education with a Chemical degree/diploma or equivalent experience
• Previous work lab experience is an asset, training will be provided
• Experience in GC & general lab skills an asset
• Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Attention to detail with good organizational skills
• Basic computer skills
• Team player with the ability to work in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
