Job SummaryWe are seeking a Part‑Time Security Guard for the Calgary Downtown area. Shifts are Saturday and Sunday from 0000 to 0600, six hours per shift. Pay rate is $17.50 per hour. We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all qualified people to apply.
Responsibilities- Observe and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site, ensuring the security and safety of client property, assets, and personnel.
- Make periodic patrols to check for irregularities and inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
- Preserve order and act to enforce regulations and directives for the site, pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
- Control access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
- Patrol assigned site on foot or in vehicle; check for unsafe conditions, hazards, unsecured doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
- Provide excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client’s property and assets.
- Monitor intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
- Use computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
- Protect evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
- Valid provincial Security Guard License.
- Working knowledge of security operations and procedures.
- Reliable means of transportation and own vehicle required.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to write routine correspondence including logs and reports.
- Basic computer skills such as using Microsoft Office.
- Ability to walk, stand, and conduct patrols.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- First Aid/CPR considered an asset.
