Elevate your security expertise with the Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo as a Fixed Term Security Guard. Provide a vital safety presence in a dynamic environment while engaging with guests and staff.

This on-call, fixed term Security Guard 1 role is essential to maintaining safety and security at the Calgary Zoo. You will patrol the 125-acre facility, monitor security systems, and respond to incidents. Strong communication and customer service skills are required to effectively assist guests while enforcing security procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough interior and exterior patrols across the zoo

• Monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems effectively

• Respond promptly to various security incidents and emergencies

• Manage crowd control and direct vehicle traffic when necessary

• Maintain a professional appearance and follow uniform standards

Requirements:

• Valid Alberta Individual Security License and First Aid certification

• 1+ years of security or related experience preferred

• Strong computer skills, including record-keeping

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

• Must maintain a clear criminal record check
