Position Summary:
The Security Guard maintains a safe and secure environment by conducting patrols, enforcing site rules, and responding to incidents while providing professional customer service.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct regular foot patrols and monitor premises to maintain safety and security
Enforce property rules, regulations, and access control procedures
Respond to incidents, emergencies, and medical situations (First Aid/CPR/AED)
Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activity
De-escalate conflicts and manage trespassers or unauthorized individuals safely
Investigate incidents and document all findings in clear, accurate reports
Maintain logs and incident reports in accordance with site procedures
Provide professional customer service using tact and diplomacy
Collaborate with emergency services and support daily operations as required
Required QualificationsValid Alberta Security Licence
Valid First Aid/CPR certification
Minimum 1 year of security experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills (English)
Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods (8–12 hours)
Ability to work in fast-paced, high-traffic environments (indoors and outdoors)
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
High attention to detail and situational awareness
Proactive approach with ability to follow direction and retain information
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in retail security or loss prevention
- Experience in high-volume or public-facing environments
- Training in de-escalation or crisis intervention
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-stress situations
- Strong emotional intelligence and conflict resolution skills #GTHP
