Position: Community Housing Support Worker Role
Provide crucial housing support as a Housing Support Worker with Closer To Home Community Services in Calgary. This contract position is centered around client advocacy and community collaboration.

In the role of Housing Support Worker, you will play an essential part in facilitating housing stability for families through partnerships with the Calgary Homeless Foundation. The position involves crisis support, landlord negotiations, and the development of individualized success plans incorporating cultural values.

Experience with vulnerable populations is a must, as is a commitment to evidence-based practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create partnerships with landlords, promoting housing access

• Legally advocate for clients in housing negotiations

• Support families in skill-building through workshops

• Visit clients in their homes to mentor effectively

• Address mental health and addictions in housing contexts

Requirements:

• Diploma or degree in a related discipline

• 1-2 years' experience in housing support

• Valid class 5 Alberta driver’s license

• Willingness to work flexible hours

• First Aid/CPR certification required
