Become a Home Visitor at Closer to Home Community Services and support Indigenous families through emotional and cultural guidance. Work closely with children aged 0-6 to foster growth and learning.
This role focuses on providing essential resources and support via the Siim ohksin Whahkotiwin program. You will assess family needs, aid in practical skills, and connect families with Indigenous knowledge and traditions. By promoting self-esteem within family units, you will play a crucial role in their development and self-reliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support emotional needs and challenges of families
• Help families develop crucial life skills and problem-solving
• Connect families with Elders for cultural teachings
• Engage in collaborative goal-setting and outcomes review
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards
Requirements:
• Relevant diploma or significant experience in social support
• Strong knowledge of Indigenous cultures and pertinent issues
• A clean driver’s abstract plus proof of Alberta driver's license
• First Aid/CPR Level C or above
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings
