Join Distress Centre Calgary as a Justice Navigation Coordinator, where you'll provide trauma-informed advocacy and support. This on-site role involves collaboration with community partners and navigating justice systems to assist individuals.
As a Justice Navigation Coordinator, you will work directly with marginalized individuals confronting homelessness and the justice system. The role involves delivering court support, facilitating referrals, and collaborating with law enforcement and community agencies. Your focus on community relationships will drive holistic support for those in need.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build trusting relationships with individuals in crisis
• Deliver education, advocacy, and court support
• Facilitate access to housing and legal resources
• Collaborate with partners for comprehensive case management
• Maintain accurate documentation for program accountability
Requirements:
• Degree/diploma in Criminal Justice or related field
• Experience in risk assessment and safety planning
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills
• Familiarity with trauma-informed and harm-reduction practices
• Ability to engage effectively with diverse backgrounds
