As part of the shelter team, you will report to the Manager, Crisis Shelter & Affordable Housing. This position mandates a bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience. You will ensure the delivery of effective support services for residents while fostering an inclusive community environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide support using trauma-informed practices to residents
• Answer crisis line and facilitate intake and assessments
• Build positive, non-judgmental relationships with residents
• Ensure safety and security while managing shelter dynamics
• Maintain excellent record-keeping and data audits
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in social work or similar field
• 1-3 years experience in a shelter or crisis setting
• First Aid and CPR certification required soon after hiring
• Familiarity with anti-oppressive practices
• Ability to navigate crises with calm and effectiveness
