Inspire and educate at Heritage Park as a Seasonal Interpreter for Indigenous Programming. This role invites you to share vital cultural histories while engaging diverse audiences from April to October 2026.
As a key member of the Indigenous Relations team, you will interpret the histories of Siksika, Kainai, Piikani, Îyârhe-Nakoda, and Tsuut'ina communities. This position values lived experiences and promotes authentic storytelling, providing enriching educational outreach to park visitors. Your contributions advocate for truth, reconciliation, and cultural awareness.
Key Responsibilities:
• Present Indigenous narratives through interactive programming
• Lead educational tours focused on Treaty 7 cultures
• Collaborate with community partners for meaningful engagement
• Maintain exhibit readiness and guest interactions
• Create inclusive spaces that celebrate diversity across nations
Requirements:
• Personal connection to Treaty 7 cultures
• Completion of secondary schooling; related post-secondary is a plus
• Understanding of First Nations narratives and customs
• Experience in schools, museums, or community engagement
• Effective communication and ability to engage with varied groups
